Which bag for school?

Ok, this is the 3rd question I've asked about this today, but I can't decide which bag to get for school. I've narrowed it down between these two:

I love both of these bags, and I just can't decide! Does anyone have an opinion or some pros and cons to each bag? I'm really stuck

I like how the first one can be a backpack or a crossbody, but I think the second one would hold my stuff better. Also, I found a picture of the first bag when it's sort of empty:

I think it looks kind of weird... So does that mean I shouldn't get it?

I definitely like the second one better I like it's all around appearance more and it has more places for things, the only thing I don't know if I'd like about it is the fact that it doesn't close by zipper but by belt-type straps-- but I don't like how the first one opens either lol
