How much money would a single guy need to earn per year in order to live the good life in Santa Monica?

Good life = Living near the beach. Own a late model Pontiac Solstice convertible, eat out often, party in local clubs every weekend, some travel, nice clothes, enough dough to take girlfriend out often, etc., etc.

I think 114K would do it. You'd be renting the first four years, but you'd be able to put about twenty-one thousand a year into long term assets.
