European Power Converter
Majority of the tourists and travelers would agree when we say that packing a European power converter is a must when traveling in a different country. Some of you might be a bit clueless as to what are converters and why is it a must to pack in your suitcase.
Power converters are handy devices that let's a user reduces the American electricity voltage of 220 to 110 electricity voltage of Europe. This is a device, which are attached and used for gadgets that does not have a dual voltage system. This system enables the user to use their devices whether the electrical sockets are 220 or 110 volts. Having a European power converter with you keeps your gadgets that are using the American voltage system from frying and failing from the high voltage power from European sockets.
If a dual voltage system is not equipped to your devices then it is recommended that you make use of converters. Don't make a mistake of buying a power adapter because it is different from power converters. A converter reduces the 220 volts to 110-voltage, meaning it converts the electricity into the right voltage capacity of your devices. On the other hand, a power adapter is just merely an added part to be attached on a plug to make sure that your device will fit in the European sockets.
Both 150 and 16000 watts European power converter is highly recommended by tourists as both are very light to pack and can be bought with a reasonable inexpensive price. The 150 watts is practical for tourists who mainly just uses light gadgets that uses 150 watts or lower like digital cameras, ipod chargers, and hair dryers. 16000 watts however are recommended for tourist and travelers who uses a lot of heavy-duty devices and appliances like travel irons, laptops and other similar devices.
To see whether your devices or appliance has a dual voltage system or it can be used in other countries without any power converters, check it's capacity. A capacity of 110-240 volts means it can handle both American and European electrical systems.

Can a Nintendo ds with a 120v ac/dc converter be plugged into a 240v socket?
I live in Korea and my mom sent a Nintendo for my kid. Laptops and hard drives, camera battery are all okay with just the plug adapter. But I'm not sure on this, the dc adapter itself looks so small that I'm worried. Anybody been in a similar situation?
yes, maybe.
Look on the charger, there is a label that tells the supply input and output voltage.
If the input is 100 - 240VAC 50/60Hz, then the answer is YES.
If the input is 100 - 130VAC then the answer is NO.
You can buy Nintendo replacements supplies on eBay. 99% of them are for international use.
