smoky montains vacation?

My family is planning on heading back to the Smoky Mountains for vacation this year. How does the North Carolina side compare to Tennessee as far as rental cabins, things to do etc.. here are photos from our last trip http://familytravelidea.blogspot.com

Wow - I think I was born for this question.

I can't rave enough about the North Carolina side of the Smoky Mountains. My boyfriend and I live in Atlanta and took a trip up to Bryson City, NC. Right when we got there, we honored a 2p appt of kayaking down the Nantahala River - here is a pic of the river - http://www.stayinnorthcarolina.com/images/dynamic/towns/04908314108/nantahala1.jpg

It is a Schedule I-II river, so the difficulty is not there really and you get the enjoy the scenery...

After that - we headed to our secluded cabin that had the most amazing views of the mountains and all of their smoky glory I HIGHLY recommend Rock Creek Cabins - http://www.rockcreekcabins.com/ - we stayed in Cabin #6 The Watkins.

When we left to head back to Atlanta, we took a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway - http://www.vsrltd.com/new/blueridge/large/image1.jpg - that pic speaks for itself...

My man is from England and has been all around this great planet and England of course, yet admitted that this was the best vacation he has ever been on in his life.

I think about it often...when I daydream...Bryson City and Western North Carolina are probably the most beautiful spots in America.
