Japan - Tokyo is the capital city and home of the Imperial Residence and Emperor's Palace. Select a popular destination or region in Japan and explore its attractions. Taiwan - Taipei, the country's booming, vibrant capital remains steeped in Chinese, Japanese and native Taiwanese cultures. Question about traveling to japan from USA? Money exchange?

If someone had money to go to japan from USA, are they able to exchange his/her USD to Yen money so that he/she can purchase items from japanese stores

Japanese uses Yen right?

Japan does in fact use the Yen. most stores ive been to only accept Yen, with the exception of many bars. they take anything really.

There should be a money exchange in Narita airport. its your best bet. there are a few exchange places around where i was, but they all looked seedy(by japanese standards, meaning they wernt IMMACULATE)

larger stores accept credit card, but many resturants dont.

Best bet is to bring about 20000-30000 in yen(preferably 1000 or maybe 5000 bills). you should be able to get a currency exchange at your bank in the US, or at any japanese bank, though. ask them. they can give you the proper exchange rates.
